Hey y’all, welcome back to The Soul’s Work Podcast. I’m your host, Janice Ho, and I’m really excited to be finally wrapping up Season 2. This season has spanned the past almost two years, and it’s feeling like the perfect time to close it out and move into Season 3, which is right around the corner. I already have two amazing guest episodes recorded for y’all. We’ll be talking more about reconnecting with our soul, our intuition. We’ll be talking about pleasure and embodiment. I want to bring in some conversation about polyamory and consensual non-monogamy more broadly, and some of the things I’ve been learning about relationships and attachment in general through that exploration. And there are so many other great topics we’re going to explore in Season 3. I feel like it’s gonna be the best Season yet of the pod, so stay tuned for that.
But before we get there, we need to reflect on the journey that was Season 2. And really, I’m sharing with y’all some of my biggest lessons learned from all of the personal experiences, the self-work, relational work, trauma-healing, therapy, etc., etc. that Season 2 covered. And although the episodes in that season were recorded in 2020 and 2021, they also included the things I had learned and experienced in 2018 and 2019. So, lots of deep reflections here and some of the most important things I’ve taken away and carry forward with me in continuing the work.
So, I actually recorded this episode on Christmas – so, a couple of months ago; today is February 20, 2022. And I had recorded it as the second part of my last episode, where I closed out 2021 and shared some of my takeaways from the year. But when I was editing the recording, I realized the whole thing was way too long, so I split them up in two parts. So this is the second part, I literally just needed to record this intro, and had been planning to publish it before the New Year. But I got what I’m pretty sure was COVID right before New Year's Eve, and then shortly after recovering from that, I got bronchitis and was incredibly sick for a few weeks.
And since then, I ended up doing a 4-years-later review on my Season 1 solo episodes. I was curious to listen back and see if my perspective had changed significantly from anything I had said way back then. I know I’ve learned and grown so much since that time and I definitely have more of a trauma-focused lens now. And so it was interesting to go back. I did find that overall I really still stand by a lot of it. And also, I definitely saw how much more nuanced and expanded my perspective has become since Season 1. And so, if you want to read about my reflections on those Season 1 episodes, you can go to my blog at www.thesoulsworkpodcast.com. It’s all there for you to dig into.
And there’s so much more that has happened in my life since the last episode, the biggest thing being moving from the farm, getting a new place in downtown Toronto, my home city, which needs its own entire episode to unpack, and I think I might just do that.
But I don’t want to delay any longer in getting to the main conversation. So let’s do our housekeeping and get to it. So as always, if you are enjoying the show, the best way you can support the podcast is to leave a rating and review.
